Dia 106 San Ramon - Heredia 66kms 7,300kms
Durango, Colorado to Heredia, Costa Rica! 3 1-2 months and I´m here! Rather than a never-ending soap-opera, this story has an end,,,, which creates another beginning. But that´s another story!
Started late from San Ramon as I underestimated the length and difficulty of this ride. The ride itself was spectacular as I traversed the old highway, which has been bypassed by the Panamerican Hwy. Very rolly and curvy, I passed through Naranjo, Sarchi, where I made a new friend at lunch, Grecia, Alajuela, Santa Barbara and Barva before landing in Heredia just as the sun was setting.
106 days that will forever live in my memory. The result positive. Physically, I´ve changed my location from Durango, Colorado to Heredia, Costa Rica. Personally, I´ve changed my perspective an equally large distance. Spiritually, I´ve evolved my relationship with the holy....
I give thanks, for the opportunity, thanks for the strength, thanks for the tailwinds, the friendships, the love, the protection, the sky, the mountains, the valleys, the coastline, the deserts, the jungle, the cities, the ruins, the food, the beer,,, the noodle,,,,,, the luck...
I dedicate my safe arrival to all of you who have sent me vibes!!!!!

Bob,
I've been contacted by Louise Edwards about a possible story in Adventure Cyclist magazine but I'm interested in seeing photos. Anywhere online I can look at some or do you have any suggestions?

wow ..... Most of us just dream of the great adventure, but then we let "life" get in the way of it ever manifesting, or should I say of us ever making the time to manifest it ourselves. We let our fears over money, career, family, and all those other responsibilities and to-do's keep us living our lives squarely in the river of the status quo. Thanks Bob for enlivening the rest of us, for looking fear in the eyes, casting aside your doubts, and heading out with eyes wide open, not knowing what lay ahead, but knowing that the direction you were heading was straight toward living in every sense of the word. LIVING THE PURA VIDA!!!!! YEEHAAA!!!
And holy shamoly!! 7300 kms! If I did my math right that works out to about 4,500+ miles! That's some serious winter base training! How about being my partner in the El Soledad in Samara in October?? It's 80 km in the hills around Samara with the partners starting, riding, and finishing together. Let's show'em what a combined 106 years can do!
We're still listening! the story goes on, and our hearts are with you -- and with Linda as she begins her Costa Rica adventure, too. We just might be hugging you in person, you know!
love, Sara y Roverto

What a ride. Thanks for pulling all of us along. Your blog has been a nice vicarious diversion for those of us plugging away through this long winter (awesome winter). I liked the evolution during your ride - it seems the quest became something different than the goal. And I'm sure that made it all sweeter.
Take care,
Alan and Family
